Attending the Lakewood Chamber’s Lunch MOB event at Bruno’s European Restaurant was more than just a networking lunch—it was a trip back in time. As I sat down with friends and fellow chamber members, the aroma of authentic German cuisine immediately transported me to my childhood memories of living in Germany.
Bruno’s isn’t just a restaurant; it’s an experience. The warmth of the staff, the cozy ambiance, and the unmistakable flavors of home-style German cooking make it a standout in Lakewood’s culinary scene. Each dish reflects the kind of care and authenticity you’d expect from a family-run establishment that takes pride in its craft.
I indulged in a meal that felt like a heartfelt embrace: Schnitzel Platter – Three kind of Schnitzels served with three different sides. Yes, I was there for a “small” lunch but just could not help myself. For my sides I had their cucumber salad, red cabbage and the largely popular german potato salad that should never be missed. As an additional side, I know indulgence at its finest, I ordered a side of rouladen, pictured to the left.
The taste of my childhood was right in front of me. Oh the memories.

My friends and members enjoyed the rich and comforting Jägerschnitzel smothered in a perfect mushroom gravy to the tender Bratwurst paired with tangy sauerkraut, every bite carried the essence of true German tradition. And, of course, no meal at Bruno’s is complete without a generous helping of Spätzle—soft, buttery, and utterly satisfying.
A special thank you to Bruno’s European Restaurant for bringing back the flavors of my childhood and for sharing your passion for German cuisine with the Lakewood community. If you’re looking for an authentic taste of Germany right here in Washington, this hidden gem is a must-visit.
