After more than five decades as a community landmark, The Ram in Lakewood, Washington has announced its closure. The restaurant confirmed that Friday, September 26, will be the final day of service at its flagship location at 10019 59th Avenue Southwest.
Since opening in 1971, The Ram became a staple in Lakewood—known for its hearty burgers, cold beer, and welcoming atmosphere. For 54 years, it served as a place where families gathered, sports fans cheered, and friends celebrated milestones both big and small.
With the closure of Lakewood, the company continues to operate seven restaurants in Washington and four more across Oregon and Idaho. While this marks the end of an era for the city where it all began, the broader Ram brand remains a familiar name throughout the Pacific Northwest.
In a statement, the company shared:
“As the Ram legacy lives on across the Pacific Northwest, we invite our guests to join us for Lakewood’s final week of serving delicious burgers, cold beers, and more—through Friday, September 26.”
For many longtime patrons, the closure is bittersweet. The Lakewood Ram was more than just a restaurant; it was a part of daily life and community history. Generations of guests created memories within its walls, making its farewell feel like saying goodbye to an old friend.
Though the doors will soon close, the legacy of 54 years of food, tradition, and camaraderie in Lakewood will not be forgotten.
