- Start in Lakewood, WA and head toward Bridgeport Way SW.
- Take Bridgeport Way SW heading south.
- Turn right onto 87th Ave SW.
- Continue on 87th Ave SW for about half a mile.
- Turn left onto Dresden Ln SW.
- Continue straight, and 8804 Dresden Ln SW will be on your right.

One of the Best Dog Parks in Pierce County

Dog owners flock to Fort Steilacoom Park for its outstanding off-leash dog park. Enclosed within a vast area of the park, the dog park offers large open fields, wooded trails, and agility features, giving pups plenty of room to roam, socialize, and exercise. There are separate areas for large and small dogs, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all four-legged visitors.
The Fort Steilacoom Dog Park opened in 2006 and draws visitors from throughout South Puget Sound. Since its opening, it has received numerous accolades. This includes being named “Best Dog Park” in Western Washington in 2017 by King 5’s Evening Magazine and Best Dog Park in the South Sound by South Sound Magazine.
In addition to the fenced off-leash area, Fort Steilacoom Park has a paved trail around Waughop Lake and a diverse terrain trail system for those looking to switch up their normal dog walking routines.
